Primary RE Curriculum
Did you know?
Scripture underpins approximately 75% of the RE Curriculum for primary students. Teaching about the Sacraments requires unpacking particular Scripture stories with students. Teaching about social justice requires unpacking relevant Scripture texts with students. Teaching about Judaism in primary level is about understanding more about Jesus' cultural and religious life, in order to interpret Scripture well today, as well as to promote understanding and tolerance for religious diversity within our world today. Teaching about prayer requires investigation of what we know about prayer from the Bible, and exploring the prayer Jesus taught which the Church now calls 'The Our Father'. Therefore, it makes sense that building the knowledge, understanding and skills of practitioners to teach Scripture well will be vital to ensuring high quality religious education for our students.
